Tiv Catholic Link (TCL) is a platform dedicated to providing high-quality Catholic Tiv faith-based content online and showing its relevance to modern life. This content includes Tiv Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, devotions, novenas, rosary, history, catechesis, talks, retreats, meditations, Christian music, and more.
TCL is a non-profit organization, and all team members and group members volunteer their time and talents to spread the Gospel. Members are encouraged to explore their beliefs and share ideas in various ways.
In 2003, St. John Paul II urged Catholics to utilize the internet to spread the gospel, while also warning about potential dangers. Tiv Catholic-Link, we create and share content to evangelize and spread the message of Christ. We are eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals and groups who have similar goals for the advancement of the church in Tiv land.
Tiv Catholic Link was established in 2017 by Fr.
Ortavershima Philip Bua, who had moved from Kenya to the United Kingdom to
study for the priesthood. Feeling far from his homeland, he noticed that his
native language, Catholic prayers, and songs were starting to fade away. Missing
Africa and his culture, he used his media skills and passion to create an
online platform for the Catholic mission, gathering and producing content in
his language to stay connected to his roots and reach out to Tiv people living
abroad. Starting as a simple Facebook page, TCL now reaches thousands of people
through various platforms.
Fr. Victor Tersoo Ashwa,
C.S.Sp, recognized the potential of the platform from the beginning and was
excited about the idea. With his own media expertise and enthusiasm, Victor, a
missionary in Tanzania, joined TCL and has played a key role in its growth. The
team is grateful for the contributions of all its members.
